Background

Esperanza Humura (EH) is a local non-governmental, non-religious, non-political and non-profit making organization that was founded in 2018 with a goal of promoting social and economic welfare of the vulnerable communities with emphasize on children with their mothers in detention. The organization has a compliancy with Rwanda Governance Board (RGB) with No: 04/2012 of 17th/02/2012.

Our Work

Esperanza Humura (EH) works towards seeing a community where vulnerable and disadvantaged members live positive and sustainable lives as well as advocating for social justice, the organization struggles to promote health by contributing towards creation of awareness about different health issues that affects Rwandans. Secondly, the organization has a mission to promote gender equality through fighting Gender Based Violence-GBVs and to enhance the welfare of OVCs in poor communities of Rwanda with attention to families with mothers in detention.

The purpose of ESPERANZA HUMURA

The purpose of ESPARANZA HUMURA is to create a Fund, to mobilize funds, manage and use them to promote human well-being of families with mothers in detention, provide to them legal assistance through the following activities based on:

Promotion of good governance, human rights and culture of peace.

Provide legal assistance to the vulnerable families with mothers in Prison.
●

Provide psychological assistance based on mind set changes to the members, husbands and Children of families with women in Prison.
●

Promotion of education and hand skills vocational training among children with mothers in Prison.
●

To collaborate with other partners to achieve the sustainable development goals.
